New Printing Blankets 2012: Flexible and Economical

With the RED CANYON and PHOENIX MARATHON printing blankets, PHOENIX XTRA BLANKETS is responding to customer wishes even more intensively.

“In the past, we concentrated on rounding off our product range and improving our current standard products from a technical perspective”, explained Sales Manager Sven Speier. And this proved a success: The PHOENIX CANYON printing blanket for water-based varnishing will be removed from the product portfolio in 2012 and replaced with RED CANYON.

“With this step, we are offering our customers the benefit of a single product that works with both UV- and water-based varnishes”, emphasized Tony Tilocca, the force behind this product. “RED CANYON features a UV-resistant cover that meets the highest requirements in offset varnishing.”

For job/heatset printing, PHOENIX XTRA BLANKETS is introducing the new PHOENIX MARATHON, a further development based on the PHOENIX AMARANTH. For high-speed heatset rotation machines, the printing blanket is only available with a thickness of 1.7 mm.

Its optimized delivery rate means that the cylinder generates less heat, which reduces ink buildup and, in turn, leads to longer intervals between washes. All this makes PHOENIX MARATHON an economically viable product in the demanding field of large-scale heatset printing.
